Help with school fees and other expenses for low income families

Yayasan Pendar Pagi Riau’s Education Assistance program works to bring aid to the children of underprivileged families. YPP provides help with school fees and supplies (such as uniforms, books, shoes, and writing utensils), and offers help with the children’s homework.

Currently there are twenty-five children in the program, from all different grade levels and age groups: 10 in elementary school, 5 in middle school, 8 in high school, and 3 who are pursuing higher education.

The hope is that with this help, school-age children in these families will not be forced to drop out of school. Instead, these children have the possibility to break the chains of poverty within their families and realize a brighter future.
