Building self reliance through sensible use of small loans
Cibubur, West Java » YPP recognizes that in some circumstances providing a start-up loan for a small business can open up a way for a family to provide for their needs independently. Others can use a loan wisely to improve their living conditions, which can have a significant effect on family wellbeing.
Local people meeting certain criteria have from time to time accessed these types of loans from YPP, and received personalized support from our staff to help them consider different possibilities for their home or business. Those considering starting a business can also receive informal training about basic business principles and management of finances.
The repayment rate to date has been encouragingly high, with some recipients even paying the loan back more quickly than required. Some who received home improvement loans went on to carry out further improvements themselves, as they were able.
YPP continues to provide these two types of loans where there is a clear case for them, according to funding availability.
