Creative Hour
Learning and fun through creative play
West Jakarta » YPP believes that every child has the potential to achieve and contribute. They simply need ways to channel their creativity and a community that supports them.
Such is the purpose of the Creative Hour program in Kalianyar, West Jakarta. Here, kids 6-12 years from disadvantaged families participate in a variety of activities designed to stimulate creativity, build confidence, and inspire love for their community and the environment.
At YPP’s Kalianyar Community Centre, the children have opportunities to draw, paint, tell stories and engage in other creative activities such as interviewing people from the local community and learning photography.
They also learn values to help them develop healthy relationships in their families, schools and wider community – honesty, helping one another, working together, confident self expression and responsibility.
In these ways Creative Hour encourages the children to grow in self confidence and discover their creative potential.
